  • Hoptown Holiday Hopfest

The annual Hoptown Holiday Hopfest in November has quickly become one of the most talked about events in town as it attracts bigger and brighter stars to the Alhambra stage each year. The fundraising event benefits the theater and was inspired by a former board member as an opportunity to hold a local event that people would normally have to drive to Nashville or a larger city to experience.

Over the past decade, the Hoptown Holiday Hopfest has raised over $130,000 with past headliners including Wynonna, The Steeldrivers, Marty Stuart, and Billy Bob Thorton and the Boxmasters. By purchasing a ticket to this sold out event, it helps ensure that the Pennyroyal Arts Council can continue to provide our community with the best entertainment while making sure our historic theatre stays relevant for generations to come.

This year’s headliner is none other than Max Weinberg, the iconic drummer for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and former bandleader for Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Max is bringing his electrifying show, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, to Hopkinsville for an unforgettable, interactive performance. In an exciting twist, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox offers a one-of-a-kind experience where the audience creates the set list in real-time! Guests will choose from over 200 classic rock songs, from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to the biggest hits of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Whether it’s a beloved Beatles anthem or a Springsteen favorite, Max and his band will deliver it exactly the way you want to hear it. It's an evening where your song requests shape the night, making this show as fun as it is unforgettable.

  • The Nutcracker

The Pennyroyal Arts Council and Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction & Gymnastics invite the community to celebrate the magic of the holiday season with a local production of The Nutcracker ballet the first week of December.

The classic Christmas Story and fairy tale ballet in two acts centers on a family’s Christmas Eve celebration. The audience joins Clara and Drosselmeyer for a magical journey through the land of sweets that is sure to delight audiences young and old with its cast of local dancers, vibrant costumes, and larger-than-life set pieces.

  • Picnic With the Pops

his outdoor fundraiser and virtual silent art auction serves as an annual fundraiser for the Pennyroyal Arts Council.

Patrons at the event are encouraged to decorate their tables in the selected theme for the year and support local downtown restaurants with take-out orders in advance for the outdoor show.

  • Dancing With Our Stars

Local celebrities take the stage at the Alhambra Theatre every other year to compete in the Dancing With Our Stars fundraiser. Dance experts from Bluegrass Dancecats and Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction & Gymnastics serve as mentors and coach 8 celebrity pairs in the summer leading up to the big day. In years past, professional dancers have been paired with local celebrities.

Proceeds from the sold out event and the funds raised during the dancing festivities support the missions of both the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Sanctuary, Inc. Money is raised leading up to the event as community members cast their “vote” for their favorite team. Each dollar donated counts as a vote, with the overall competition winners named from most dollars raised. In three years of programming we have raised over $190,000 to benefit both organizations - our largest fundraiser.
